The simple way to explain it would be organisms obtain carbs and that fermentation is a form of respiration that releases energy from glucose when energy is inefficient. And possibly when you look at the krebs cycle you will know how to explain it more.

In cellular respiration the cells make the carbon in glucose into stable carbon dioxed molecules and produce energy. The energy they produce is called ATP which is used for breathing and other functions because it is the main energy source for cell processes. It is used in the Kreb Cycle and all of the other cycles because it is very important.

What happens is it takes in carbs and fats it then goes on to glcolysis then to the kerbs cycle and then finally it goes to the electron transport chain all of this time it is making ATP or power for the cells. After this the ATP is used to power the cells end of story.

They take in carbs and other things from food. They create ATP with the stuff they take in food. That is the way that create energy for the cell and CO2 is released. That is the easiest way to explain cellular respiration.
