Climate

Why are there so many different climates in the world and why is climate important to the different biomes?

There are different climates because of factors such as position on the Earth and stuff. When you are near bodies of water the water will give you a mild climate which would be like a mediterranean climate. When you are on the equator not by a body of water then the sun is either right on you or not making it hot during the day and cold during the nights. When you are on the poles it is freezing because the sun does not direct it's rays that way so it is below freezing all the time. And also when you are at a higher elevation or lower elevation the temperature will be different putting you in a different climate zone.

There are different climates in the world because plants and other living things need different temperatures to survive. It is important because animals and living things need hot, cold, cool, mild, and other things grow different in other climates too. And people also need different climates to survive if it is too hot then people won't want to live there or the same if it is too cold.

There are different climates everywhere because of there Geography. When they are near bodies of water then they are just really moderate and have mediteranean climate. Then it is there latitude too. The further away from the equator you are the cooler it is and then there is the elevation. the higher the cooler.

Climate is effected by three things- elevation, latitude, and proximaty to water (we learned this in geography!). When you're higher, its colder. Near water the temperature is mild, and the closer you are to the equator the hotter it will be. Climates effect the biomes greatly. Weather determines what organisms can live there- if things can grow (what can eat them), if its too cold or too hot for certain things to live, etc.
