I learned that things like atoms make up matter. Atoms are the smallest things that can be broken down. I also learned about molecules and compounds. Thats all i read about.

CHemical bonds form between groups of atoms becuase the shell is unstable until they have eight electrons in valance shell. Also that polar attractions and hydrogen bonds are forces that play an important role in many molecules.

I havent read the whole chapter yet but i did read the first section which deals with atoms which is the smallest unit of matter that cannot be broken down. Also about bonds, ion, electrons, neutrons, protons.

I learned that humans have a pH of about 7.4. I also learned that if a human's pH level goes down to a 7.0 or up to a 7.8, then the individual will die within minutes.I also learned that we have buffers, so that our pH level doesn't change at all. I just thought that it was really interesting.

The first thing it goes over is atoms. We talk about what they are, what they do, etc. Then it goes into bonding and stuff. It has to do what living and nonliving things are made up of.
