The idea that nonliving material can produce life. Francesco Redi tested a decaying meat made maggots. He made a controlled experiment in which tested the meat an saw that it had maggots anyway because he was able to use a microscope.

Its having nonliving things produce living things. They used meat in a jar and put a lid on it and soon maggots started to appear on the decaying meat.

Spontaneous generation is the idea that nonliving material can produce life. Scientists used meat in a jar and they put a lid on it. Then maggots started to appear on the meat. Francesco Redi did all these tests.

Its having nonliving things produce living things. Francesco Redi helped disprove the concept. They put meat into a sealed jar and maggots started to appear on the meat.

Spontaneous generation is the idea that nonliving material can produce life. IN 1668, an Italian physician, Francesco Redi, disproved it by placing decaying meat in several uncovered control jars and in covered experimental jars. The covers preveted flies from landing on the meat. In time, maggots and flies filled the open jars, but not the covered jars, showing that only flies produce flies.
