I was shocked by how much of the energy and nonrenewable resources that can be cut down just by changing a few things in our home like using solar panels or low-flow shower heads or toilets. Wind energy also contributes to that. I can recycle-which we do, reuse plastic bags, use ceramic plates instead of paper, or take shorter showers.
After watching this movie, it was shocking to me that we are destroying out environment. The human species is basically setting itself up for suicide. It is kinda scary to think that we are using up natural resources that the enviroment is giving to us, but if we would have to reproduce these goods, it would take 35 trillion dollars. To help create a cleaner Earth, we could clean up the litter and reduce the number of resources we are using, casue the human population will reach it's carrying capacity and we will see a decline in the human species.
I was very shock about how much waste is is made ot make one truck load of product. I knew it was up there but not that high. I can buy products that are green and are good for the environment. If many people buy products good for the enviromnet and the industry will change to meet the new demand. That will help the environmet.

I couldn't believe how much damage we really are causing to our earth. I also couldn't believe that when we cut down trees and believe that they are going to grow back.. that land actually turns into desert. Also how if we did a few simple things that made our homes a little more green we could make the world of difference.

Another thing that I could not believe is how many animals that we are making extinct every year; because we have an endangered animals list and some of the animals that are going extinct are not even on there. I guess we did not know that we were going to make some of them extinct. I know now how important it is to recycle because we don't have too much time until we make ourselves go extinct. Lastly I was shocked that the average person went to the store 5 times a week.

I was also shocked by the number of species that becomes extinct as the direct result of human activity. To reduce the amount of stress i put on the environment, I can recycle paper, plastic, glass, and other recyclable products. I can also reuse items like plastic bags, and avoid drinking out of plastic bags to reduce waste.

Something else that I could do would be to try to drive less and use less fuel or get a more fuel effient vehicle which would create less pollution.

One shocking thing i saw was the alarming amount of plastic that the world goes through in a year...and that stuff doesnt break down very fast and when it does leaves many harmful chemicals in the environment. A thing we can do to cut down on this is reusee, reduce, and recylce most plastic bottles and containers. Just send them to the recycling plant and have them be reused.
