Hemophilia is a disease that involves blood clotting. With Queen Victoria, her daughter had the disease and since it is passed down from generation to generation it is in the family.

Queen Victoria had 4 sons and 5 daughters. Her son Leopold had hemophilia and died. Two of her daughters were carriers for the trait. The disorder was passed to royal families in Spain, Prussia, and Russia over four generations.
